Purpose

I started the TF Record years ago to compile information on as many TFs as I am able to locate. Originally I gathered information on TFs in Washington state, but this Web site will enable me to expand the base. The TF Record is only a compendium of facts about this particular breed of MG. It is not a registry - no arbitrary number will be assigned to you or your car. There are no dues, no meetings, no officers. If you would care to add to the record, please fill out the registration form and return it to me.

The TF Record Web site provides a compilation of information and photos of and about the MG TF 1953-1955. Here TF owners can share tech articles, stories, and photos pertaining to the MG TF.

Who I am

My name is Art Mafli, I live in Snohomish, Washington,  and I am the owner of MG TF #9870.

In 1958 I joined the newly formed MG Car Club NW Centre. My chance to actually own a MG came in the spring of 1960 when a BRG MG TF 1500 was advertised for $850. What a great car! In six years I drove that TF 75,000 miles including a tour of seven western states in three weeks.

Being a beginning teacher, I had no money for professional shop work so I carried out all repairs and adjustments myself. Sadly, that TF was sold in 1966. After retirement, needing another hobby, I purchased MG TF #9870 in 1991. In the ensuing years my interest in locating other owners of the marque MG TF has developed. Through these years I have solicited TF records from local owners. This site is an expansion of that endeavor.

Of all the MGs the TF is my favorite. It was an anachronism at the time of production and its sales were bad, but today it is, in my opinion, the most desirable of the T series. That is why my wife and I have created this website.
